AI Query Assistant

Generate CQL queries from natural language with CF Worker or OpenRouter modes.

Overview

AI Query Assistant converts plain-language legal requests into CQL suggestions.

Modes

CF Worker Mode

  • no API key required
  • quick onboarding
  • may be rate-limited during peak usage

Direct OpenRouter Mode

  • uses your own OpenRouter API key
  • generally more predictable throughput
  • key format: sk-or-v1-...

Typical Flow

  1. Open AI panel.
  2. Ask in plain language.
  3. Review suggested CQL queries.
  4. Click a suggestion to send it to the search box.

Query Preview with Manticore

When Manticore is ready, Colpan can show estimated hit counts per suggestion.

This helps choose the best candidate query before running full search.

Chat History

The assistant can keep short conversation context to improve follow-up prompts.

  • recent messages can be reused for context
  • history can be cleared when needed

Privacy Notes

  • file contents are not uploaded
  • file paths are not uploaded
  • only assistant prompt/context text is sent for AI processing
